Cheyenne Traditional School consists of 31 schools within The Scottsdale United School District. They are said to be serving about 26,000 students with over 3,000 employees, including 1,700 teachers. Boasting of a history of about 100 years, their boundaries include the city of Scottsdale, town of Paradise Valley, part of the city of Phoenix and Tempe.
Cheyenne Traditional School managed by Scottsdale Unified School District dates back to 1896 by Major Winfield Scott. Presently, there are 5 comprehensive high schools, 6 middle schools, 3 K-8 schools, 16 elementary schools and 1 alternative school. The vision is “A community that engages educates and empowers all to excel.” And the mission is “To deliver a world-class education promoting the highest level of academic achievement, creativity and personal growth that will inspire greatness in today’s students and tomorrow’s leaders.”

Cheyenne Traditional School practices wearing of uniforms, t-shirts and jackets in dark blue color. These are standardized and give the uniformity concept that Cheyenne Traditional School is known to have. Most of the schools are for average students but not for special needs child. If you have a special needs child, you would have to consult the individual school Principal if they are able to cater to your child. As in most public schools, these might not be the most suitable for a child who needs special attention for academics. If you are not sure if your child might be a special need child, just go to a specialist who is able to give the appropriate testing.
